INTRODUCING MATTHEW CONLON NUMBER 2 ON TEAM RING

I would like to introduce Matthew Conlon as the number 2 candidate on my “Growing our Future” team.

Matt relocated to Lithgow just over 26 years ago when has accepted a position with our local radio station 2LT.

It didn’t take long for him to fall in love with Lithgow’s community because of its community spirit and how we band together during disasters be it major bushfire or family tragedy to support one another.

Ours is the sort of community where Matt wanted to start a family. Both his children were born here and have participated in many organisations along with their father. Who over the years has been involved with Lithgow PCYC, cricket, football, walk and talk and continues to be an active member of the NSW Rural Fire Service Lithgow Communications Brigade.

He has a background in media/sales and marketing (radio ten years) a degree in law, Bachelor of Legal and justice studies and a graduate diploma in law (working in the legal sector for ten years), and currently serves the good people of Lithgow LGA as a passenger train driver.

Matt also has a diploma in small business and understand the needs of small business in a rural and community settings.

He will bring a raft of skills and experience to Council if elected inclusive of: drafting and interpreting legislation and policy, marketing, and stakeholder engagement.

As a member of my “Growing Our Future “Team he will strive to achieve our policy goals of serving the community interests, conducting a full rates review, get back to basics with roads, water and sewerage plans and maintenance, to grow Lithgow’s future with new business opportunities and provide good governance with equality and transparency for the community.
